Communities custodians of landscapes

Local communities play a crucial role in preserving natural landscapes and wildlife, and their custody of land is vital for adapting to climate change. However, rural communities lack access to stable financing mechanisms such as carbon finance due to the complexity of carbon monitoring and certification.

A need for measurable impacts on the ground

Driven by their mission and stakeholder demands, many companies and organizations are looking for impactful projects to invest in. To demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, they seek out reliable carbon removal opportunities based on solid science with clear, measurable and verifiable benefits for the climate, communities, and biodiversity.

iTeraka works with landowners and smallholders to enhance their land and generate revenue streams through tree planting on degraded or unused land, while also contributing to the protection of natural assets such as water access and biodiversity. This collaborative effort aims to promote positive impacts on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

iTereka seeks funding and forges partnerships to facilitate the implementation of projects. This includes registering the projects with certification standards and authorized organizations, providing necessary services for their proper execution, including their monitoring, reporting, and verification.
